This is dumb....I'm using a installer tool to install this HD on a 350/270hp and it's at the point where it won't go any further. How much clearance should be between timing cover and HD ? There is about 1/2" of HD hub showing. I'm I "on" all the way or I'm hung up some where ??
This is a new rebuild, so other pulleys are not mounted. I wonder if it is "hung" on the timing gear key ? Would it go in that far ? I attached the timing tab and from a "point" there's about 1/4" to edge of HD. Collar was clean, white grease applied to inside and outside.
Mike, that's about 1/4" from a "point" to the front edge of HD. If I measured from crank snout to hd edge (inside hd hub) what would that be ? You are probably right, should pull off and start over.
