The eBay seller mollyputts4u is back auctioning a Ford fuel filter canister as a Corvette part. He/she always inserts the same weasel words to dodge criticism about misdescribing the filter. Buyers beware.
Early Corvette fuel injection fuel filter canisters have 5/16" fittings, not the 3/8" (Ford) size.
Give me the sense to know the difference between changing the wall thermostat setting and changing the path of a hurricane. I can only do one of them, sometimes.
Through prior emailings with Jerry, I was lucky enough to have an early warning about that item/seller. I did ask the seller about the fittings and his "cya" reply was "was told 3/8". Looks like someone else asked him the same question so he finally added the answer to the description. Hopefully it wasn't a vette owner who wasted his $$$ winning the auction.
By the way, I'm still searching for an authentic (5/8 fitting) filter for my 61 unrestored fuelie if anyone has a line on one.
Thanks.
Jerry, hopefully you were spared any major damage. Thanks again for the warning.
