    C6 Z06 Preview

    The Southwest Chapter got a sneak preview of the new C6 Z06 today thanks to member Jim Contes from the GM Desert Proving Grounds. I've posted photos on our website for those interested.

          Nope. I got to back it out of the garage for the outside photos, but that's doesn't really count. :-)

              How does it sound? I have heard that when it is not running, the exhaust is "open" (the butterfly valves on the tips are presumably normally open valves, and your pics appear to substantiate that), and that when you start the engine it "barks" briefly until they close - it supposedly sounds really good upon startup.

                  You are correct. The valves are open when the car is off, and you hear it briefly when first started. Then they close and it sounds rather anemic until you give it enough power to open them up again. At idle, another member's C6 sounded a bit throatier than the Z06 did.

                      Would'nt it be possible to override that control, leaving them open?
