    67' Tri-power gas lines

I replaced my 1967 427-435 tri-power gas lines two years ago with no leaks and everything was just fine, I start and run my car every week, recently I have developed a small leak but it stops after it warms up. Today I drove the car for 2 miles and smelled gas and pulled over, when I raise the hood the car burst into flames. Luckily I had my fire extinguisher and dowsed the fire.
Question: Is there a procedure to install and tighten the tri-power lines?

    Thanks.

    Re: 67' Tri-power gas lines

Some time ago, I believe Clem had a recommendation for doing this. He may comment on this soon.

      my suggestion was

to take all the lines and tighten the flares firmly into a spare steel fitting held in a bench vise to form the flare seat. the brass fitting are too soft to make a good fit on the steel lines and if your lines are stainless steel not carbon steel this MUST be done to get a good seal
