Timing set and freeze plugs for '63 340hp

I've got the block and crank in the shop and I'll be buying Sealed Power CS113R cam, AT992 lifters, and L2166NF-30 11:1 pistons. I understand that these are as close to stock for a '63 340hp as you can get. My question is, what timing set is recommended.
I also went to NAPA for the freeze plugs (I understand that the originals didn't have any numbers or manufacturer stamped into them). They said all of theirs had at least the size stamped into them. Where did you get your blank plugs from?

As I've mentioned previously, my preference is always for a Cloyes True Roller timing set, model 9-3100 for small block Chevrolets. Some folks have reported minor fitment problems with this set, though, requiring minor grinding of the block for cam sprocket clearance. Personally, I've never had this problem with the several of these that I've used over the years. Also, I have particpated in the engine projects of others and never observed the problem there, either.

However, it seems that you're trying to do an "as-close-as-possible-to-original" engine rebuild. In that case, I think I might just go with a stock-type, early link timing set. These will work quite well, although I don't consider them to be as durable as the True Roller type. With the kind of mileage that you're likely to be accumulating in the future, I don't think that long-term durability is going to be much of an issue.

There is no timing set or component parts thereof currently available for your application as originally configured from GM. However, you can purchase an as-original set as manufactured by Cloyes. The set you want is Cloyes #C-3025. This set uses an iron camshaft sprocket, as original, and is virtually identical to the original set in every way (except "numbers", of course, and no one will ever know the difference).

I have used this solid cam and lifter setup on my 1963 327/340 hp roadster with great results. make sure you use ( NAPA VC1810 vacum can ) with timing set at 12 deg. using stock timing gear set as suggested .

Freeze plugs without manufacturer's stamping--available via C Central and others.
