    "75" Steel Rims

I recently moved to a new house and in the garage are steel rims off of a 1975 Corvette. Are they worth anything or should I just toss them? I am restoring a "62" Corvette and dont't know much about later models. Of course, I know to save everything on my "62". Want to make room in my garage, but felt bad just throwing these away without checking. Thanks, Mark mlcorry@pol.net

    Mark,

You didn't mention what kind of condition they're in, but if they are descent, they are definitely salable. New ones retail for about 75 bucks per (somewhat cheaper if you shop around) and if they are in good shape I would imagine that you could get $30. or $35. each. There's always someone looking for rally's. If not for a Vette, then for a Camaro or S-10 or other such application. Advertise them in your local paper or if you're a NCRS member, advertise them in the Driveline. I'm sure someone will snap them up pretty quick.

      Mark and Bob-----

Yes, these wheels are VERY popular among all sorts of Chevy enthusiasts. Plus, if they're properly dated coded for a '75, they're worth a considerable amount to a '75 owner restoring his/her car. Certainly more than new wheels if they're in good condition.

Mark, you may want to poke around on eBay to see what the market value is.

Thanks for your response. All 4 wheels have 15x8 J on them. Underneath the 15 there is an upside down "12" and underneath the J there is a C stamped. I have pictures if anyone wants. I am not sure what the codes mean. I just moved and haven't unpacked my NCRS books to look them up. I want to make sure of what I have before I sell them. Thanks, Mark(mlcorry@pol.net)
