Advice on mounting NOS, non-dot tires

Hello all- I am trying to mount some 35 year old original NOS tires onto rally whells in Phoenix. Any advice on what type of equipment or tricks to get them on there without damaging the tires?

    thanks,
    Ken

Any modern tire shop using a little care should NOT have a problem. Explain to them what you are doing.

Take a spray bottle of soapy water with you and tell them to use it up during the install. Mix 1 part dish soap to 3 parts water.

That mix will slick up about anything..

        Ken-----

The whole "trick" will be plenty of lubricant and lots of care.

However, I'm assuming that you're talking about mounting these and using them for SHOW purposes only. I highly dis-recommend any driving, at all, on 35 year old tires.

Oh yeah. If I could mount them on the judging field I would. Most likely the only miles the tire will see is going down my driveway, up the ramp into the trailer, and back.

          thanks.

                Wow! a G70 on a '55?

That is a skinny looking G70-15 though. I have F70-15s that look wider.

                  C'mon Patrick, where's the smiley?

Look at that picture. Doesn't that look like a "G"?

Roy always has such neat optional equipment, I figured it could have been NOS optional 1955 G70-15 tires for the '55 Corvette racing option.

Roy, be sure to get some pictures of your set up at Park City so the rest of us can see. I really enjoy those items you post.
