    C1- 61 Donut Spare Tire

I need to get a spare tire for the 61 and am thinking about a late modle donut styled set up. What should I be looking for at the salvage yard? is the bolt patern 4.75"? What car (or truck) migh have what I need? My tires are 27.1" diam. (I think 225/70's) Thanks for the help!!!

A late C3 Vette spare might work. I'm not sure about the thickness, but the diameter should be close.

Those are the tires that "wanna be a Goodyear when they grow up!" I've found the spares from full size GM cars of the mid 80s to the early 90s work fine in my 57's spare tire well. The ones I use have 10 holes in the rim - both 4.75" & 5" bolt patterns so they could be in all the full size GM automobile models. With a little luck you might find some unused (NOS..!?!) ones. I bought them at the local U-Pull-It yard for usually $10 or less. I used four of them in place of my wire wheels when I repainted the car about 12 years ago.

Astro Vans should work for a spare. My 92 had one that was 6 in wide and about 24 in tall with dual bolt pattern.
