I noticed a litle oil on the top in the center of the maniflod on the drivers side.. How can oil get up there? The only way would be if it came up through the bolt which is right next to it. Is that possible ?? Also when I step on the breaks and let go of the steering wheel the car goes to the right is this a caliber issue ?.. Thanks in advance to all the great people who help keep us rolling...

Re: C-3 1970 coupe BREAKS/OIL
Jack,
The two things you ask about are probably unrelated. Oil could be seeping past a bolt.
About the brakes, the pulling to one side may be a caliper issue but it could also be a rotor issue. Brake rotors should always be replaced in pairs to avoid this type of braking. It could also be a bad hose. Something is up with your brake system.Tony- Top

Re: C-3 1970 coupe BRAKES/OIL
If your hoses are old, I'd replace them now. The hose collapses inside and can either keep some pressure on (dragging) or block the line to reduce presure, causing the other side to pull.
I'd start on replacing all four hoses, flush the brake lines completely, and then re-evaluate how they work.
Another possibility (strong one) is that your calipers are leaking. If so, the pads on the left side could be wet with brake fluid and not gripping as well. If so, you need new seals in the calipers and it is best to do them all and be sure. Several ways to do it:
1. Buy new seals and replace them yourself.
2. Buy O-ring type seals and do them yourself.
3. Send them out to have them done with stainless steel sleeves (getting your originals back).
4. Exchange for them for stainless steel sleeved calipers (lose your originals).
I'd do the hoses at the same time regardless.- Top
