C1 muffler

does anyone have any imput as best type of muffler and best place to buy to use on 57 single four,I would like it to not be loud but have a nice sound

I put a system from Corvette Central on my '56 with the round mufflers. The system was a nightmare to fit as it required a bunch of cutting, but, the sound of the round mufflers is beautiful.

I put a C.C. syestem on my 57 and had no problems. I used the round mufflers and also have the cross-over at the front. Did the 270 hp engines use the cross-over or was that for FI cars only ?

Paul, I bought an exhaust system from Corvette Central for my 1961. I got the round mufflers. I had no problem installing it and it sounds great. Joe

Only the 283/283 fuelie used the crossover pipe.

I'm glad to hear all the great comments about CC round mufflers. I purchased the round mufflers, with the cross over, for my single four 1957. You guys just confirmmed my expectations!
