Just out of curiosity, who has the best frames for sale for a 1963? What is a fair price for one? Will it pass NCRS judging? How does judging look up replacement frames? My question is for another guy here that is restoring a 63 and contacted me asking about this. I didn't really know about this, as my frame was rust free...seems like I replaced everything else...so I thought I would has for him...Thanks

Re: Powder Coating Frames?
Thanks for info. I called them yesterday and they explained the process and the lead time..about 8-10 weeks. Now the second question, I know you will take point deductions, but are most people powder coating their frames? What are the judges view on this? Is it worth the point deduction? Again thanks...- Top

Re: Powder Coating Frames?
I would like to add to Collins question on frames: Who makes the best trailing arms for a 1963? I called Vette Products of Michigan and they do not make trailing arms.

Re: Powder Coating Frames?
Depends how obvious the powdercoat is. That, in turn, will depend on the skill of your powdercoater and your ability to work with him.
I've seen them that looked like they had 1/2" of coat on them, and I deducted heavily in judging. I've also seen some that made it very difficult to distinguish from paint. So, the degree of variation from "expected" or "typical" will result in the degree of variation in your score.
