Does anyone know or have a source for the convertible top bow placement measurements on a 63-67? The shop manual does not show any measurements. For example, a Ford shop manual(for a 65-66 Mustang) describes a template or "gauge" that can be made from plywood. You then bolt it on to the top frame and the bows can be located at the proper places. It works great. Thanks.

Re: mid-year convertible top installation
Brant-----
The only place that I could suggest would be an upholsterer who is very familiar with Corvette folding tops. A firm like Al Knoch who both manufacture and install Corvette folding tops might be a prime candidate.
As far as I know, all Corvette folding top assemblies were delivered to the assembly line as complete assemblies, ready for installation on the car. I don't know if they were assembled at the Corvette assembly plant in an "off-line" sub-assembly operation or if the were brought into the plant ready for installation from a vendor. In any event, no information on assembly specifications is provided in ANY Corvette reference that I've seen. That includes the AIMs for any year model and the Chevrolet Service Manuals for any year model. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: mid-year convertible top installation
I put two tops on my 66 in 14 years of driving. Both of them look better than the upholstery shop installation that I paid to have done between my two jobs. The second install was last winter. Measure the diagram in the shop manual to get the ratios of the bow ceneterline dimensions. Measure your top anchor points, on the car and on the diagram to get a multiplier for the centerline dimensions. It worked fine for me. The critical dimension is between the bows above and below the back window. It is constrained by the straps on either side of the window, and the dimension to the top of the window, AFTER the top is mounted in the bow below the window. Good luck.- Top
