CORRECT COLOR OF A 1969BB INTAKE MANIFOLD

IS THE INTAKE ON A 427/390 BB '69 suppose to be painted orange or is it originally stock aluminum color (unpainted) from the factory??...advise and thanks

Marc - you mention stock aluminum color (unpainted)as if you have an aluminum manifold.....the 390 has a cast iron intake and as Wayne comments it is painted orange. If you have an aluminum manifold that was only used on the 425HP engine.....Craig

1969 L-36 engines used an aluminum intake manifold, they are unpainted. For that matter 1968 also used an aluminum manifold for that engine as well.

Yup. All 1968-69 big block intake manifolds used on Corvettes were aluminum. However, many, if not all, were originally painted with aluminum paint.
