    anyone know the real reason those cars did not come with a fan shroud.

      They were special performance equipment packages for serious racers - not meant to be driven on the street.

          yeah, I know that. but what was the reason for no shroud. it had nothing to do with the steet. if no one comes up with the answer, I will.

              it cuts of the air flow thru the rad at speed and most race cars ran without the fan blade so you would not damage the rad in a shunt

                  thats right you our winner! it will choke off the air flow at high speeds.
