    Mike-----

Unfortunately, there were several different wheel and tire sizes used for 1997-2003 Corvettes. Sizes included 17 X 8.5, 17 X 9.5, 18 X 9.5, and 18 X 10.5. Most of the wheels and tires, except those used for Z-06 application were EMT (run-flat) only.

      Addendum

      Mike-----

A little more. Tires sizes for 97-03 Corvettes were as follows:

      97-03 non Z-06

      front 245-45-R17 EMT
      rear 275-40-R18 EMT

      2001-03 Z-06

      front 265-40-R17 non-EMT
      rear 295-35-R18 non-EMT

joe: thanks for the info. what i've got are four american torq-thrust wheels that are 18x 8 1/2". what i can pick up for next to nothing(actually nothing) are a pair of new yokohams 245-45-18 and a pair of 285-40-18. would it be safe to mount these tires of the torq thrust 8 1/2's? they'l be run on a new chevy k-1500 pickup.regards and congrat's on the president's award. few , if any , of the previous awardees have contributed to the club as much as you have.mike

          Mike----

The 8-1/2 X 18 wheels will be fine for the 245-45-18 tires. That size tire has an approved rim width range of 7-1/2" to 9".

However, the 285-40-18 has an approved rim width range of 9-1/2" to 11". So, the 8-1/2" rim falls well outside that range.
