I would like to know on a 1960 Door Panel whether or not the upper two mounting screws have grommets inserted or not. The suppliers of the grommets themselves have given me mixed information..

Re: 1960 Door Panels
I don't know, but the holes on my 60 door are too large for the screws. Western Corvette in Lynnwood, WA is ordering me oversized screws made just for such a situation. They are currently backordered, but a regular item.
I was about to fill and redrill the holes to accept the correct screws when I learned that oversized screws were commonly used.
I will be watching with great interest as someone will have the correct answer for us. Bob Babcock- Top

Re: 1960 Door Panels
Jack, I clearly recall removing the door panels from my 60 back in the '70s. Yes they did have farrels inserted into the upper molding. The upper screw hole on the windshield end had one that was approximately 1/2 of an inch long and was not pressed over on the inside edge. It was merely inserted through the upholstery and pushed in firmly through the thick cardboard/felt to the metal backing. The other on the rear edge of the door was crimpped. Hope this helps Regards Larry- Top
