I replaced the front harness on my 57 several yrs. ago and am now thinking of replacing rear harness (?) does the rear harness connect on the drivers side down by kick panel and where does rear harness wind its way to the back including lt. and rt. tail area ,is it easy to route wiring any tips thanks
paul
I replaced my entire wiring harness on my 62.Not sure if there the same. But the connection for the rear harness on mine is on the drivers side kick panel area. The wires ran along the floor at the door under a plate. They came out near the end of the door.Ran up the edge of the opened door area toward the back of the seat.Into the convertable top storage area and through the the wall into the trunk. Then to the lights.
I believe it will be like the 53-55 which runs through the rocker panel, then through the fuel tank compartment before goinginto the trunk area and behind the spare carrier to the right side. A fair challenge to fish through all this.
Tie a string to the end of the old one before you pull it out. That string will become a "traveller." When you pull the old one out, the string will end up in the places the old harness used to be. Then tie the string to the new harness and pull the new harness through.
