C2 Windshield Install - HELP in Sarasota, FL

I just had a new Pilkington windshield and gasket installed in my '64 roadster. The glass man I chose has been around a number of years and claimed he had Corvette experience. I questioned his procedure before starting out and he pretty much outlined the manual, But after installation the gasket is puckering in the lower corners and no amount of pulling and prodding is changing it.

Has anyone in the Sarasota area been successful with professional windshield installation?

    Thanks for your help.

Re: C2 Windshield Install - HELP in Sarasota, FL

I recently installed a windshield in my 67 coupe. There is seam for the metal cage in this area. (Lower corners) If there is any rust or excess body sealant in this area it makes the gasket want to bulge because this point becomes a little thicker/higher than the surrounding lip. The area I'm talking about is on the lip that the gasket fits over.
I spent the better part of a day installing the windshield but it fits well. You may want to start over and be present/help get it right. Its imperative that the gasket be correct Before the chrome is installed.
