    Original 67 427 fuel Pump?

Hello All - My 67 got dinged at national in Utah for a repro fuel pump. What is the part number that is actually stamped on the pump? The Judging Manual says the part number is 6440482. But I have heard some say that any part number that ends in 40482 is correct. Does anybody have a picture of the part number on an original fuel pump?

    thanks,
    Ken

    Ken,

If I remember correctly, my original pump had 40482 stamped on the flange as well as the raised AC logo.

      Ken,

Check out e-bay item #4564982373. Great pictures of a restored 40482 fuel pump showing the logo & stamping. This fuel pump is actually stamped 4G40482. I don't know if this is an actual restored original or a good repro. It looks awful good if it's a repro. Has anyone bought a similar fuel pump from this seller?

My fuel pump which I believe is original is stamped 39M40482. Not quite sure what the 39M stands for.

        Ken-----

The original part number used in PRODUCTION for the pump for your application was GM #6440482. This pump is an AC type 40482 (which is the last 5 digits of the part number). The flange of the pump will be stamped only with the AC type number (i.e. 40482). Usually, this will be preceded by a "manufacturing and/or date code" of 3 or more characters.

The AC type 40482 fuel pump is still available from GM under GM #6416741, which was always the SERVICE part number for the 40482 pump. However, currently available versions of it will not have the "AC" logo cast on the side of the pump's upper body and will not have the "40482" stamped on the flange.

Paul Baker of Goat Hill Classics MAY have an original-style 40482 available. If so, it will likely cost an arm-and-a-leg since this is a 1967 part.

I bought a fuel pump off of this person about two months ago for my 1966 427/425. I am very pleased with it. It looks perfect -- the AC logo is cast just like original. Coloring is excellent etc. Delivery was also very fast and communcation with him was excellent.
