I have a 1966 BB and have notice that my steering seems to be loosening. The wheel turns 1-2 inches before anything happens. Is this normal or a sign of something loose or worn?
Steering coupler and the steering box. Turn the steering shaft forward of the firewall while watching the output shaft of the steeing box. If you see extra play you may have found your culprit
Also check the pittman arm to center link joint. My car had a lot of play there until I adjusted the large set screw per the chassis service manual. You may also have to reset toe in when you're done
