    See option section UPC U69 in your copy of the '66 AIM (assembly instruction manual). You'll see the radio antenna ground strap installation called out complete with the correct stack-up orientation of components. The ground strap connects the LH side of the antenna ground plate to the side of the LH outer rear frame rail just forward of the rear body mount. Note the tooth washers install between the ground strap and its respective mounting points, intended to 'bite' in for a good connection.

      Tony:

      The "ribbon" is attached to the lower bracket-to-splash panel bolt. It is a convoluted route from the frame to the outer attachment point. The attachment point for the motor to the bracket is via the bolt at the bottom of the housing, next to the drain hole. DO NOT overtighten this bolt, as it is threaded into the fairly thin pot metal of the housing.
