Just a question on my car which has a trim tag date of K-23,which I translate as June 23/65.Spec Guide lists last June car as serial # 21216, and mine is another 340-something beyond this number.How come, am I missing out on something? Just curious, thanks in advance.

My guess is that sometime between the assembly of the body and assignment of VIN, there may have been some reason for delay and the VIN was actually assigned in July. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Perhaps others can confirm that body build date and VIN assignment may not always have taken place within the same week for various reasons. It looks like your VIN and body date differed by about a week to ten days.Tony -

It's likely that your car has an A.O. Smith body, built elsewhere and shipped to St Louis.Comment
