        Need edit:
The short fuses, as mentioned above, are colored on the outside even for Littelfuse.

Are the currently available repros that are painted on the outside Buss by any chance?

            Re: Add-on

I can tell you that the original Buss fuse has the paint on the inside. I have pulled thousands of fuses in junkyards from the inside of GM vehicles. I have never found a little fuse in any of them. They were all Buss fuses, with the color coding on the inside. I wrote an article for the Restorer back in 94 about the color coded fuses.

Replacement fuses were not color coded, since the automated system of installation as mentioned in a previous thread were designed to use the color coding. The service replacement purchased through a dealer, or any other source did not need to be colorcoded for obvious reasons.

I have sold over a thousand of color coded fuses via the driveline over the years and have not been active in doing so for the last few years. I just sold my remaining suppply to one individual.

                  Re: Add-on

My '69 Z/28 still has three of its original color-coded fuses; all are Buss, and all have the color on the inside.

Mark - Before you buy, if you haven't already you might want to check out the following articles in the Corvette Restorer (Vol. 29, No. 3, pp.18-20; Vol. 20, No. 1, p.6; and Vol. 23, No. 3, pp. 28-29).

In my opinion, current glass-colored fuses available from the various vendors differ markedly from those installed originally in 1967 and later GM vehicles.

                      Re: Color Coded Fuses

I've decided to rummage through some salvage yard sources and forgo buying from the vendor, as I'm guessing they are painted on the outside and I'm looking for the original for judging.
