    Motor number's etc. Help!!

I have stumbled across some parts, motor and P01 wheel covers,The motor numbers are or what I believe to be 15S427496 and V0507CHB. The car VIN# is 1237J5S427496 that has exhaust manifold on it with #8032461, intake #18436672, this vette has trim 732 IOL paint, and 16 (build date). Basically Any help on identifying this motor and vette. 75/76 vette? jc I have more numbers in a bit....Whats a rolling frame, rear end, motor, trans (auto) worth, it has the body on it , but it was in a fire, the rear clip is what is left.jc

    Jeff----

The second character of the VIN is a "Z", not a "2". This would be a 1975 Corvette coupe. The engine is an L-48 originally equipped with an automatic transmission.

I believe that you are incorrectly reading the exhaust manifold casting number. Casting numbers are frequently difficult to decipher. In any event, the number should be 3932461 which was used on both sides of a 75 engine. The intake manifold is a totally mystery to me. I am unfamiliar with that casting number which is a MUCH LATER ISSUE number, if you are reading it correctly.

Jeff, youhave a 75 coupe, base L-48 engine. 732 trim is Dark Red Leather. The PO-1s , depending on their condition can be worth 100-200 each. The frame is worth approx. $1000 + or - depending on condition. All in all I wouldn't offer more than $1500 for the works! Good luck. Bob Cook

Bob, the deal get's sweeter, With the burned out vette, comes a front frame member to a 68/69 Camaro. I e-mailed Joe, for the numbers, but here they are again for the Camaro. 18N459929 V053IEE The N and I may be a different Number though. The Camaro motor is I believe a 327, It is pan to carb! whole front end, wheel to wheel-minus the body. Also, rear end, and front nose, (2 foot section) with the front bumper, very salvagable. What's the package worth now...jc I tell you tomorrow... or tonight..

Jeff, Indeed the deal sounds better. I really have limited knowledge of Comero's, although I have a bunch of buddies that love them. There is a big market for their parts. I would try to buy as cheap as I could, But watch out there may be someone else out there who will beat you to the punch. Answer-- another grand!
