I had a problem with my 780 Holley with the accel pump leaking. Replaced it and now I'm not getting a "pump shot". Linkage is hooked up right, with the right tolerances. When I take the carb off and pull the pump off on the bench, there is still gas in the accel pump area. I've blown all the metering plate holes out with air and still no pump shot when the carb is on the car.....Any ideas?

Is it possible that you tore the diaphragm when reinstalling. Sometimes, the screw(s) can catch the rubber diaphragm, and twist it, causing a bad seal, or worse, tearing it. I would examine the condition of the diaphragm first.

I'll have to check that its's not binding Clem, I'm sure it was there when I had it apart. I remembered to keep the bowl upside down, but I didn't check to see if was moving freely. If it's there I'll give it a shot of brake cleaner. I can't find anything wrong elsewhere.........ThanksComment
