Hey everybody,
After screwing around for last 6 months trying to decide what to do about the reproduction door panels I bought from Al Knoch 9 years ago and just discovered they would not fit.......I brought my originals to Bloomington and talked with Dale from Al Knoch about reburbishing those. He said they could do so off they went. A month later I get them back and they were just stunning! They fit perfectly and look great, they even used the original cardboard backboard that has the date stamps on them. Only problem, they are the wrong color!! They are 100 shades too bright and even a color blind person would be able to tell they don't mnatch anything else. So, I returned to Al Knoch along with one of the panels purchased 9 years ago that IS the right color but WON'T fit. Just spoke with Dale and he said they changed the color to the brighter shade because of requests by the NCRS (against his better judgement) and now the only thing they can do is dye them. What is going on here? Can someone explain to me why all of a sudden the change and what about the 1000's of owners out there with the "Old" Medium Bright Blue interiors??? I am not a happy camper now, have $1000 invested in just the door panels which I don't even have yet and now they have to be dyed to attempt to make right@!?!?!
Comments welcomed. Thanks
