    66 door panel removal

I am removing the door panel to work on the window. It does not go down all of the way.
What I need help with is removing the knob for the interior lock. My chassis manual says to turn counter clock-wise to remove. It seems like I am applying too much pressure and risk breaking something.
Can some one give me help?
    Thanks,
    Frank

    66 door panel removal

    Frank,

The problem most people have removing the door lock knob is getting access to the spring clip thing that holds the knob on the lock shaft. Someone suggested to me to make a small hook on one end of a large straightened paper clip and to slip the hook over the middle of the spring clip and pull. This worked for me and the price of the tool was right. Once the spring clip is partly or completely pulled off the shaft, the lock knob will pop right off.

If you are talking about the internal lock knob which locks the door, Gary's suggestion is good.
If you are talking about the round ball knob that opens the door from the inside then follow the book. It is screwed onto a shaft and possibly might be rusted. If you can't turn it counterclockwise you may be stuck with destroying it/twisting it off.
