C2 Air Cleaner Cover

Hi guys! Would like opinions on this 64/65 air cleaner cover. The lip appears to be rolled. However, the other originals I've seen (including my own) have a lot more metal rolled under. I've never seen one with this little of metal rolled under the lip.

agree with your observation that originals have more meat in the roll. mike

Thanks Mike. The entire air cleaner assembly is being sold as an original on ebay. I had the seller send me the pic of the lip. It didn't look right to me, but I wanted second opinion. I've never seen an original like that, but I've never seen a repo quite like that either. The base looks a little too nice to be used original as well. Had me scratching my head.

Just to expand on Mike's post, my reproduction cover has a rolled lip whose annulus extends out a full 1/16" from the hole's base circle.

Thanks Joe. The repos I've seen have had no metal rolled under. But there is likely more than one manufacturer. Looks like another repo being sold as an original on ebay. Just goes to show the importance of doing due diligence.
