C2 Carb & Valve Cover question

Hi, have 2 questions for you NCRs experts.

1.On the tri power carbs should the carbs have washers installed or just the nuts?

    2. On the 67/427 I know that 2 plug wires are attached to 1 valve cover bolt and reinforcement piece. Should that bolt and reinforcement piece not be painted? I have seen many vettes with NCRs awards done both way, just the bolts not painted and on some both not painted. Which way did they come from the factory?

    Thanks,
    Pete

No flat or lock washers, correct? Seems that the nut will chew in the carbs if tighten too much.

On the valve cover just leave the bolt natural finish and paint the reinforcement piece, correct?

      Thanks for all the help,
      Pete

Ok. I'll Stir it up a little. The plug wire grounding straps on original 427 radio cars were not attached to the no. 1 valve cover bolt. To follow the cylinder numbers, with No. 1 being driver's side front, the nearest pairs were attached to the no's 2,3,4 & 6. Or, from left to right as you as you view each bank, the second and fourth position bolts. The head markings were also Grade 5, with three lines. Since these were switch out with the bolts that came with the engine, they were left unpainted.

Sorry, I went all mental. Go by the last description. I should have said follow the cylinder order 3 & 7 and 2 & 6. I should not try to type late at night. My brain can't keep up with my fingers.
Also, on A/C cars, to clear the compressor, the right bank grounding pairs attach to the two center bolts by cylinders 4 & 6. This also hit me about midnight when I was trying to get to sleep. Geez, I hate when that happens!

Hi Michael, I too read that about the bolts. Do you know anyone that sells the correct #5 bolts?
            Thanks,
            Pete

              Swap meets for originals.
Correct head mark bolts are available from the suppliers, but, are distinguishable from the originals.
