I realize there were very few 66 Corvettes painted this color.....but would anyone on the Board have any experience painting a 66 Corvette this color. I'm looking for type of paint to use information and any helpful tips regarding preparation, application and finishing. I attended the paint seminar in Park City and have the written material given out at that time......thanks.

Re: 1966 Trophy Blue.
Thanks Wayne......I'd like to hear from someone who has painted a 66 Trophy Blue.....but with only about 1100 or so out of 27,720 1966 Corvettes originally painted this color it would appear not too many of our members have painted one......- Top

Re: 1966 Trophy Blue.
Yo Rick, I (re)painted one '66 Trophy Blue, one of my early paint jobs - about 1988 or so. Belonged to my daughter in law. In this case I used enamel w/a cat. hardener. Color seemed real close. Other than that, I can't remember a thing. Parts is parts, paint is paint. I'd try to get a good color match because some judges think they actually can remember what a color looked like 39 years ago. Good luck w/your paint job. Metallics are a pain. The T-Blue is a nice color. Best, Dennis- Top

Re: 1966 Trophy Blue.
Rick,
--------Trophy Blue is an awsome color. You will love it once done. Just personal opinion, but there are already too many non-original red cars out there now. Your car will be noticed far more if it is painted an unusual color than one that is so commonplace. As one with a Laguna Blue car I know from what I speak! Trophy B also goes well with goldline tires.........Bill S- Top
