Need to replace the switch on the bottom of the dash on left side that turns the light buckets around (on my 1963). Noticed many varation of prices between Corvette America, LIC, Paragon...Paragon even states its a replacement. Now the question is this, why are the prices so variable and high and are all these switches a direct replacement of the originals or are the not the same for NCRS JM? Who sells the best one to keep my 63 ready for flight judging...Many Thanks,,,,

Re: Headlight Activation Motor Switch.need new one
Collin,
I am not directly addressing your question, but rather offering what might be another solution to your problem.
Unless the plastic base on your switch is physically broken , they usually can be disassembled and rebuilt for only a few dollars. Most of the time, the only problem seen is pitting on one, or both sets of points that are inside the switch. All you need to do is carefully remove the two small retaining clips, clean the points, and re-assemble.
The two little retaining clips can be purchased ( if need be ) from most of the Corvette resellers.
Good luck

Re: Headlight Activation Motor Switch.need new one
Thanks to all for your responses. I have done this, and the plastic was so old and dry it just about cumbled in my hand. So I have to order another one. The cooper contacts were black, and the contacts on the back side were dirty, so that was basically thr problem. But the plastic plug and the recepticle was so dry the plastic broke when I removed it.. no I did not use brut strength, but carefully and slowly try to separte the plug from the receiver and it just cracked and broke. I ordered a new one..... but I am keeping what I have. Thanks- Top
