    I'll spot you one

I have the original fuel filter that came off Dr. Joy's car that you owned. It's black, white letters and no notches. Still filters good too. Must be dealers choice on this year.

      Mike,

When I read your previous post, I had a feeling one of those black filters you had was from my car. I remember that you said you still had the original FI unit from that car. Small world. (BTW, what is the unit number?)

        Re: Hello......

I have no manufacturing experience, but how expensive could it be to simply enlarge the female fitting /threads on the GF-90 to make it a GF-416?

            Re: 3850 serial number

Thanks Mike. I'll add that to the records that I have on that car. VIN was 19746 so that's probably about right for the unit number.

The car still had the original distributor in it when I bought it in 1976. The broken end of the FI pump cable was stil stuck in the distributor cross shaft, which is probably why the FI unit was tossed. It wound up with an old iron intake and a Rochester 4 jet from a 283.

              Re: GF-90 in 1965

Five years ago I purchased a very orignal 64 Fuel Injected car, the car never seemed to have ever been taken apart. The fuel filter was old and crusty, But it looked very orignal, it was a GF-90 Silver with red lettering. This filter has no marks on either ends. Would this be correct for a early 64 car?

I'd say that four barrel and manifold came off a '58 Biscayne. A black and white one. I tried to trade the owner out of the distributor for a tach drive. He wouldn't have it.

                That was one sweet car.
