Re: ZL-1 Vin#
Jon,
I guess I'll reveal my ignorance here as ask what might be some dumb sounding questions:
A) How do you know the yellow one is the first ZL1?
B) Are you basing the total production run of this option as 2 due to Chevrolet's numbers?

Re: ZL-1 Vin#
The VIN#s that I have for the two ZL-1s mentioned in the original post are 06753 for the white car (observed at Bloomington 1984) and 29219 for the yellow car (observed most recently as NCRS Orlando 2000) as previously mentioned. Both are coupes; the history of the yellow car is well documeted while to my understanding, there has been some question as to the white car over the years.
For what it is worth, the VIN# for the white car suggests an October 1968 build date. This would have occurred in roughly the same time frame as the initial run of 50 ZL-1 Camaros that were starting to go together for Fred Gibb. That first run was built during late November/early December and were delivered beginning December 31, 1968. This indicates to me that an early production ZL-1 was certainly possible.
