    Storage of wheels and tires

Iwant to properly store my original wheels and tires. My plan was to wrap them in plastic and store them in my storage shed. I am concerned about condensation and high temps here in Phoenix. Any input would be appreciated. thanks.

I would not wrap them in plastic. You want air to get to them. I stack mine in a corner and cover them with an old sheet.

Heat, ozone, and UV radiation are tires' biggest enemies. A storage shed in Phoenix is going to reach 120 degrees everyday in the summer if not more.

I would try to find a cooler place.

Condensation is probably not a problem in Phoenix. It won't hurt the tires, but could cause some surface rust on the wheels. Garbage bags will keep light off the tires, but unless they are in direct sunlight, UV is usually not an issue, so the bottom line is plastic bags or not isn't a big deal if they are stored properly.

Thanks for the input! I have also been told to store them fully inflated. Is that the best way? Thanks again. Allyn

I'm not sure if it makes any difference. If mounted on wheels I store inflated, but some are not mounted, so in that case you don't have a choice.
