Does anyone know of an orange manifold paint that won't burn off? Some discoloration would be okay but if I could find a brand that wouldn't start to peel or flake then I would go with it.

Re: Orange Exhaust Manifold Paint
Greg, Just visit any local speed shop. They sell various colors of hi-temp paint for headers. They claim it won't peel even at 2000 degrees, much hotter than a stock cast iron manifold runs. You can get Chevy Orange.

Re: Orange Exhaust Manifold Paint
Thanks guys. I followed a thread here a few months back about who had the most correct Chevy orange. Quanta seemed to be the paint of choice for my 69 so that was what I got. I wonder if this would work good on the manifold or should I spray them with VHT Flameproof and live with the slight, if any color difference? Any thoughts or ideas on this?- Top

Re: Orange Exhaust Manifold Paint
Greg, The "color difference" you refer to shouldn't be a judging problem since when the original Chev. Orange burned off after leaving the plant, it assumed vatrious shades (lighter) than the C.O. color. So any shade of Chev Orange "should" be considered correct.- Top
