Most of you guys probably know this, but in my trials with the repaired original gas tank sender, I found a very interesting thing.
The depth of a standard 20 gallon C2 tank is 10". I put 16 gallons into the tank and it came up to 8" in depth. Geez, how does it know? This tank must have been designed by an Italian engineer. (You guys haven't heard my Italian thermos joke.)
So, it's 2 gallons per inch, more or less. I'm sure there is some variance to the straightline for the curvature of the top and the bottom. But if you want to check your gas gage, or check mileage between fill ups, carry around a yardstick.
