re rear spring when is it bad rolf krueger john if you get a copy of the corvette assembly instruction manual or the chevrolet service manual it will identify what the proper trim height dimensions are then you can measure the corresponding dimensions on your car and determine what is too high or too low and by how much these manuals are available form the ncrs store in cincinnati- Top

re rear spring when is it bad carl rose hi john just a quick note in case you find your rear spring worn you shall be faced with two options re arcing or replacement although i have never re arced a rear spring i understand that the process is a temporary repair and the spring soon fatigues once more should you need to replace your spring ensure the spring you purchase is an original factory corvette spring my car had a leaf spring installed by a misguided previous owner in my quest for authenticity i found a used original leaf gm replacement spring taken from a car it had small bands holding the leaves together gm springs are identifiable by the degree corbers and the particular design at the end of the leaf springs installed at the factory did not have bands to hold together as this did i was very concerned that a non gm spring would give incorrect rear ride height unfortunately even the used gm replacement spring elevated the rear ride height ultimately i have re installed the leaf spring which interestingly does provide correct ride height and someday shall find an original factory mid year leaf also if you need to remove your spring be careful they can be very dangerous good luck carl- Top
