My 58 worked fine until the left rear wheel bearing went out. Changed the bearing and now the posi clunks in a tight turn. Also inside tire squeels when you accelerate in a turn from a stop. Manual says perhaps wrong fluid but that dosen't make sense. Same fluid as before. Any ideas? Could I have done something wrong when changing the bearing? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
drain read end gear oil, replace with limited slip diff gear oil and add 4 oz of posi addative. bet the problem leaves .probably coincidental that the axle bearing crapped out about the same time. good luck, mike
Just as a postscript, I changed the fluid, put in the additive and made a series of left and right turns and it woked great. Problem gone and thanks again for the help.
