    eBay madness strikes again!

I'll start off by saying that I hope nobody here purchased this part:

What was sold is an RC-15 cap, sure enough. But, it's a Service Replacement. This cap was NEVER installed on anything 1972 or earlier (i.e. on any car worth spending this much) in a stainless steel, small ear configuration. Yet, 2 people thought it was worth far, far more than it should be. In fact, this same version and configuration of the RC-15 was being sold up until the very end! That's right - you could buy one essentially just like this for $5 until the RC-15 was discontinued 2 or 3 years ago.

So now someone has again spent way too much money on a totally incorrect part. Totally functional, but totally incorrect. FYI, most RC-15 caps in this configuration sell for about $20, maybe slightly higher to $30. I'm not sure what about this auction turned on these two bidders, but...

As they teach in "eBay Marketing 101", an uninformed bidder is an eBay seller's best friend Even if the bidder is moderately informed, occasional use of "L@@K, L@@K, RARE, RARE" will usually put it over the top

Almost makes you want to email the winning bidder to let him know what he really purchased.....almost...

As John said earlier, when ONE uninformed bidder goes after something, things get out of hand. But in this case, looking at the bid sequence, there were TWO new e-bay idiots bidding on this cap and things REALLY got crazy!
