can it be tightened without removing the master cylinder from the car? Thanks in advance. Jimmy

Re: C1 - Master Cylinder Large Nut
I would dout that you could hurt the fiberglass, the MC is held on by 3 studs that have a thick steel plate on the inside which sandwiches the fiberglass firewall between the MC and the steel plate If you can hurt the firewall, I suggest you lay off the steroids! Think about it, you press as hard as you can with your foot against it at least several times a week. LOL

Re: C1 - Master Cylinder Large Nut
Hi Jimmy
What John said is sort of correct. I just put my master cylinder on my 62. I had a tiny leak from the large nut crush washer and had to tighten it. I used a large wrench and then used a hammer to give it some taps. Even though there are 3 bolts holding the master cylinder on,they are attached to the bracket which your brake pedal is mounted to. I was more concerned with twisting the bracket or anything attached to it and something being misaligned. But anyways, it worked fine for me.
Good luck....John- Top
