I understand the original color on '66 hub caps is a dark, charcoal gray. I'm looking for a set with the the original paint still on them. I'm coming across some that appear to have the dark gray, and some that appear just plain black. Did the color turn more black with age, or have the black painted ones I'm finding been repainted? (Anyone have a picture they could email me of one with the original paint still on?)

I'd appreciate a picture. The only reason I'm looking for a new set is to have some with original paint on them, so I'd like to be sure I know it when I see it. Thanks...Comment

The paint on this original 1966 hubcap is somewhat dry and grainy but the color in the photo is a good representation. It's a medium charcoal gray...Comment
