    Master Clyinder R/R

I will install for 1st. time a correct M/C with power brakes. As I see it remove 2 nuts install new unit, fill with brake fluid (type as in owners manuel) have someone depress brake pedal while I bleed air at M/C. Looks simple or am I missing something? Thank you, Don

PS I am only replacing M/C not power assist unit

Don - you need to bench bleed the master cylinder first, to get all entrapped air removed before you attach it to the car and brake lines. They have fittings and plastic tubes so the outlet ports loop up and over into the reservours. This requries a series of slow strokes to avoid turbulating the brake fluid. Then you attach the cylinder to the booster or firewall, and the lines. Then you follow a bleeding sequence at each wheel to remove any air from the system. This can be tricky on corvettes due to the 4 piston calipers and double bleeders on each.....Craig

hey don, just in case you don't know, be very carefull with the brake fluid around the fender paint. the brake fluid will remove paint quicker than paint remover.
