To all-Last Tuesday evening i was able to take my first topdown ride of the year in Kool66 as it was a balmy 40+ degrees here in snowy Michigan.I'll tell you there's nothing like passing all those people closed up in their coupes and sedans with the wind in your hair on a beautiful February evening to help lose those winter blues! When i got to my weekly Downriver Corvette Club meeting i made sure all my Corvette owner friends knew the unique feel of this once in a season ride.Think Spring,Lou

"Corvette Day" is what we should have.....
It would be something like Groundhog Day. If any Corvette is seen out driving around with the top down on February 25th, then Spring and warm weather won't be that far away. If the top is up, then more cold weather.
"Corvette Day". That isn't taken yet is it? Is it too much like there's a "Mother's Day" and a "Father's Day" but every day is "Children's Day"? Should everyday be called a "Corvette Day"? Anyway we could make this specifically "Corvette Day" for the calendars. TBarr #24014- Top

I'm sure that Hallmark Cards would love it! I think they invent these holidays anyway. The only problem left would be; do you send the flowers to the Corvette owner or the Corvette?

Dear Bob and Tom-I thought of the Groundhog Day analogy but the Hallmark angle was really a great idea.I think all non-Corvette owners should send certificates for beer, cigars, steaks, etc. to all the Corvette owners they know just to show their appreciation for us brightening their otherwise dreary Winter days.We can vote on it the next time we all get together. ;) Lou- Top

Antifreeze?
Lou, My hat's off to ya. I've been itching to go for a cruise in my new acquisition but I think I'll wait until the thermometer edges up over 40°.
Just out of curiosity, do you still have both your ears? All the fingers? No gangrene? If so, maybe it ain't such a bad idea!

Re: Antifreeze?
Lou, As much as I'd like to say "Oh, no. I ALWAYS get up early.", I'd be lying through my teeth. I'm cheating a bit since I'm seven hours ahead of the NCRS server in Cincy. And the worst part? After having expressed my amazement for your winter cruise, it is about 55° today, blue sky, no wind and I don't have any plates for the Vette yet. I think I just redefined the word "frustration". Warm is a relative term.....
when you are used to 15 degrees. I am about to cry these last four days. My 66 convertible is stored away and I had to resort to driving my wife's 97 Mustang convertible with the top down to get my "top-down fix". It was 76 in Pittsburgh, PA Friday and Saturday and should be 63 today.- Top
