The interesting thing on this one is how much the guy seems to believe what he is saying. No VINs on '67 blocks! Check the NCRS book! Link the Action Center!

Re: More eBay fun... '67 "matching numbers"
Maybe someone will even believe him I guess VIN was in 70 and up or thereabouts, serial number was before......but we all know the serial number was stamped on the block, frame, tranny...etc.... Craig- Top

Re: Looks like he withdrew it.
Not still there. The listing is still retrievable, but the listing has "ended." That means he stopped the auction because 1. he sold it or 2. he decided (or someone convinced him) the ad was wrong and he'll re-list.- Top

The Unfortunate Part of it all!
Other than his glaring error in understanding the term "numbers matching", the car looks to be quite nice. It's really too bad that the market place puts such a huge emphasis on numbers matching that it causes people to make statements like this. Unfortunately, if you list a car as NOM, there is a huge population of potential buyers that would steer clear of the car whether they fully understand the numbers or not.
Personally, as long as the car presents well and it mechanically/cosmetically correct, I really don't care if ALL the numbers match exactly. I don't like to see totally wrong components on cars (eg. crate 350's and headers on C2's) but this car looks very nice.- Top
