66 COUPE JACKING POINTS

Looked in archives, but must not have entered the correct words.

I want to put my car on jack stands and remove all the wheels so I can work on brakes,bearings etc. while having new tires mounted.

Can someone tell me what locations on the car are safe to put the floor jack, and then the jack stands. Heard horror stories of dented cross members, so want to avoid doing the wrong thing.

Tim,

What I do and I feel it is safe for self and car is raise the car at the outside frame rail where it joins the cross section. This raises the whole side of the car. I then put jackstands at the mfg. suggested jacking points and lower the car to rest. I then do the same on other side.
