C4 Rear Leaf Spring

Just finished replacing all the rear bushings in my 84 which has been apart for about three years. Question is: when installing the leaf to carrier (spacers/cushions) how are they positioned? I have two spacers and one cushion per side. Should one cushion and spacer be on the top side and the other spacer on the bottom or just the opposite? This was something I was going to remember three years ago but old-timers got to me.

There should be a cushion on the rear end and one on the spring.

Wayne, I still am mixed up here. When I took the leaf off the setup was a cushion and a spacer together. I don't remember if these two were were on the top side of the leaf or under the leaf on the bottom carrier bracket. The other spacer did not have a cushion. Both sides of my leaf were the same too. I looked at another 84 several days ago and that car didn't have any cushions--only a spacer on the top and bottom. My guess is that my setup should be a cushion and spacer on the top side of the leaf, then the leaf, then the bottom spacer? Does this sound right to you?
