    bending new gas lines

Never done it before. Just bought new three piece gas line for pump to tank and received it in a U shape. What is the correct way to bend the longer piece without it crimping? Thanks.

I have had good sucess with starting at one end of the bend, grasp the line with both hands and slowly removing the bends. Do a small section at a time.

Dick, how concerned do I need to be about it crimping? I ordered the original steel versus stainless. Any other nuances that I need to know about hooking this thing up once I have got it straightened out? Thanks for your response.

A month ago I installed a new steel fuel line in a 1958 Cad Eldo Biarritz. Purchased the line pre-bent from Inline Tube. Came as you described, bent in a "U". Followed the instructions (by hand, small sections at a time and against a 2" x 6"), and in just a couple of minutes had a straight line with no kinks or crimps. Could not tell where the "U" bend had been. My line was marked with tape by Inline Tube as to where to "unbend".

            Gary
I agree with Dick I purchased a three piece for my 57 from "Right stuff detailing" and the longest piece didn't come close to matching my orginal, so
            I
Paul duct taped old line to new line as a pattern and slowely took both hands to bent line to match old line it took a lot patience but just work with it you wil be fine

I wish suppliers offered the option of not bending the lines, and shipping it with the understanding there will be "oversize" shipping charges.
