ABS brakes vs. non ABS

Is there a difference in the procedure used to bleed ABS brakes than the brake pedal pumping procedure we used with non ABS brakes?

Kurt,
The answer to your question depends on the design of the ABS system. For some systems there is no difference in the bleed procedure between ABS and non-ABS. Other systems require a manufacturer's tool to pulse or operate the ABS system while the bleed procedure is done. In the latter case the procedure is often complex and must be done exactly "by the book" or the results will be unsatisfactory. Those kinds of situations are best left to factory authorized service shops. Generally, a factory service manual will give one a good idea as to what is required for the procedure.
