    '57 4346 Fuel Pump question

How are the female inlet and outlet threads on the pump body of a '57 4346 fuel pump supposed to be...Are they tapered as with a pipe thread or straight fittings?

Re: '57 4346 Fuel Pump question

the trucks of the late 50's used a pump that was nearly identical to the corvette 4346 EXCEPT that the main body of the pump, at the inlet and outlet positions, were drilled and tapped for the larger truck fuel line fittings. i've seen the truck pumps, with bushings inserted to take the corvette fuel line fittings. judges usually pick up on the truck pump main body with bushings when installed on corvettes. mike

      Rex,
I don't have that specific pump to look at but of several other vintage fuel pumps I have, the threaded portion of the body has straight female threads, the mating brass male fittings used are tapered.
