    Bill Mitchell SR2 Fender Scoops

Appear to have been removed when the car was repainted with the red and white striped paint theme..for the Feb'57..Daytona Speedweek. The scoops would have been in the way of the new top fender scallop stripes.

The current owner maintains the scoops were never on the car but I've seen pictures!

Well, they certainly were on the car

when the two cars were purchased TOGETHER on the same work order
from St Louis. How long they lasted on Mr. Mitchell's, I will leave to you. But inasmuch as both cars came off the line in St Louis and were sent to Engineering in MI for change - on the same work order - perhaps the story that Mitchell had his built on Mars can be discounted.
